We all carry things that hold us back...
You may recognize fears, limiting beliefs, or patterns that are inherited for family members, but you may also have things passe down from ancestor that you never met.
This was true for me, until an unexpected healing connection with one of my ancestors.
I experienced anxiety and fear of my children dying when I became a mother. They were not sick, and it felt irrational, but very intense nonetheless. As I rested in a sound bath one day, I connected to one of my ancestors’ memories.
My body felt as if it were on a boat making me feel a little seasick. At first I thought it may be an earthquake but opened my eyes to check, and nothing was shaking.
I closed my eyes and returned to the rocking boat sensation along with a feeling of despair, as if the people around me suffering and dying. In that moment, I felt complete agony.
I had connected to the memories of my ancestor who had traveled on the Mayflower when he was a teenager.
After the experience I researched and discovered that he, along with two others, traveled on the Mayflower as indentured servants to the same man.
My ancestor was the only one our of the trio to survive the voyage. I also learned that when he was older he experienced the passing of two of his children.
I was holding HIS fear of people dying. His core wound was unintentionally passed down to me.
The good news, because I carried the wound, it also meant that I held the key to heal it, with his support.
I connected with his spirit, and together we released the wound.
Through this experience, the grief and fear that I was carrying lifted. That sense of dread and fear that used to plague me no longer rushes over me.
One of my siblings who shared similar fears also had a huge shift after my experience, showing me that healing ripples out to our family members in all directions.
